EDIL CONGLOMERATI S.r.l.
The Edil Conglomerati S.r.l. is concerned in the production of concrete and its distribution.
During the production of this basic element for the modern building the company pay great attention
to the technical and technological updating to guarantee the high quality of the product as far as
durability, mechanic strength and aesthetic performances are concerned.
Aiming to keep the high standards achieved, the quality of the concrete produced is verified by a
suitable internal laboratory which carries out a systematic and a random drawing of samples for the
squashing test. This operation is repeated at least twice a week, it consist in the casting of the specimens
two by two to perform, then, the crashing test after two and twenty eight days.
Moreover the internals control the product is tested by an external laboratory which issues an official certification. Before the starting of the production, the internal laboratory carry out a quality verification on the raw material to be used, namely the calcareous aggregate and the water. The granulometric curve, the fines module and other mechanical characteristics are observed, and relevant hatching are adjusted, on the former and the purity of the latter is analysed. The second type of test is carried out every six months.
The constants efforts sustained by the Edil Conglomerati S.r.l. to improve the quality and keep the quality standard and the supplies services effectiveness high, were not at the detriment of the environmental aspect. In fact this aspect too has received great consideration by evaluating the most effective intervention to make the working environments suitable to the new requirements. The sensibility towards these problems led the company to install suction air cleaner, to build dust barriers on the aggregate discharge hoppers, an irrigation system to wet the stoking dunes and to create green areas with hedges and long trucked trees along the boundary of the installations. Besides the care devoted to the specific production field, the company has set up also other important interventions for the commercialisation of the product.

The achieved standard of development has advised the company the organisation of stages, devoted to the customers; mainly composed by middle and small sized firms, whose aim is to show the new products and the latest technologies in the field (concrete with polystyrene, with steel fibre, with foamed clay, with vermiculite, etc.). The stages showed to be a very important moment of talks to most of the customers and thanks to those meetings, the primary demands and the necessary interventions required to improve the offer could be pointed out.
After the survey, some important initiative were started, among them: vocational training of the staff by means of specialistic courses, as to give the customers a real help in the selection of a product the most suitable to their requirements; the chance, for skilled staff, on request, to carry out on the spot investigation to find out eventual critical points for the operations related to the concrete supply. Various information stages are planned inside the company to make the staff aware of the different aspect of the working stages both at the production plants and at the yards. Several informative sessions are held at the firm to awaken the staff to the different aspects of working stages and safety rules, both at the production facilities and at the yard. In 1998 the Edil Conglomerati S.r.l. took over the Edil Progress F.P. S.r.l. and increased its productive power and got noticeable benefits coming from an ever more widespread presence on the territory
In the second half of the 90s the Edil Conglomerati S.r.l. got the product quality certification from the Italferr Sis. T.A.V. S.p.A. required to supply the yards devoted to the construction of the high speed railway network. This certification is effective in all its facilities so the firm can supply qualified concrete to an area included between Rome and Frosinone.

From 1996 to 1998 more than 500.000 cubic metres of concrete have been furnished for viaducts, tunnels and prestressed structures (with more than 120 beams 45 metres long). In this direction, within a rational qualification of the main fields of the group, also the Edil Conglomerati S.r.l. has practised continuous organisational efforts, getting, in the first months of 2001 the conformity’s certification of its own Quality System to UNI EN ISO 9000.
The Edil Conglomerati S.r.l. got in supplies of an internal organization with an highly skilled staff, whose the only aim is to assure an high quality standard both for the security and for the respect of the ISO 9000 rules.
In this way the quality of the staff’s standard of working is improved and the staff itself is better inclined to offer the maximum of the own professionalism .
The constant care to the achievement of high qualitative standards in every step of the process assured to the Edil Conglomerati S.r.l. to preserve its leadership in that sector unchanged during the years.
